Hostage Rescue


Basic Hostage Rescue

The purpose of this course is to instruct the operator in the phases and execution of Hostage Rescue. Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to plan and execute a hostage rescue and understand the difference in deliberate and emergency assault.


  • Must be a licensed sworn law enforcement officer/agent with arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and/or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of federal, state, local, or military criminal laws.
  • Must be able to participate in intensive training lasting up to 10 hours per day.
  • Must not have any medical restrictions

Required Training Materials

  • Duty gear
  • Writing material
  • Camelback or other means of hydration
  • Appropriate wear (BDU, agency t-shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve), boots, etc.)

    I see that you have another basic HR training course coming up for the month of Nov, but this time is locally hosted by southlake PD. Now, will low enrollment causing this 2 days training event be cancelled?
    Just to double check, if not I’ll submit my request to my chain of command for approval.

      This course is actually a portion of an Advanced SWAT course and is taking place in Brownsville, TX. I’ve updated the page with specific details on how to register and I’ve sent you a private message as well.
